Hello, everyone!
My husband and I have recently returned from our last book tour travel destination. Over the weekend, we made the journey all the way to Fountain Inn, South Carolina for the first ever Booked in Chaos.
The trip was an absolute whirlwind! Since we have littles at home, we had to basically turn and burn. We left Thursday night, made half the drive, and finished it Friday morning. After the signing Saturday, we did the same thing. So, expectedly, I'm wiped! I'll be recovering from this one for a while, but it was totally worth it. If you don't hear much from me for a time, that's probably why. I'm playing catch-up, and now the holidays are approaching. It'll be an interesting month, for sure. As for our time at Booked in Chaos, we had a blast! 60 books found homes with readers, which is honestly mind-blowing. I traded several more for my own library acquisitions. (Muahaha) J. Silverton sold out of his "Dreamshade" short stories, and I sold out of Wicked Little Rabbit special editions! (I wish I had more pictures, but when things get busy, I'm terrible at taking them.)
Aside from sales, we met so many new and returning readers, saw friends we've been missing, and made new connections. I even accidentally met Sherrilyn Kenyon! (That's a whole embarrassing story of its own. Suffice it to say she was perfectly lovely.) The two of us swapped books! She has her own copy of Wicked Little Rabbit. The reality of that floors me.
I just want to say I'm so proud to be a part of this amazing book community. Through writing and meeting you all, I've learned so much about myself and developed a confidence I never could have had before. These events and interactions are my heart and soul. Thank you to everyone who has shown me support. It means the world! Hopefully, I'll be able to continue publishing in 2025 and beyond. It all depends on what happens with our government next, but I will definitely keep you posted.
I have one more event for 2024. This one is local Christmas Market at the Lansing Mall in Lansing, MI. The weekend before Christmas, I'll be there on Saturday and Sunday (December 21st and 22nd). So, if you haven't had a chance to meet me yet and would like to, be sure to stop by. I'd love to chat with you there.
I've also updated my 2025 events on the events page on my site. There are two events I've unfortunately had to drop due to financial constraints (Pack in the Readers and Getting Witchy With It in New Orleans), but I still have several more planned and am booking local signings to fill in the gaps. As far as I know, I won't be doing any in January. That month is pegged for rest and recovery.
That's all for now! I'll be back as soon as I have more updates. Keep being amazing, and stay safe out there.
Happy hauntings and happy reading!
R&R is the name of the game from now through the holiday season.
